Xiaomi plans to launch the company's new flagship phone titled Xiaomi 13 in early December. Unfortunately the launch of the Xiaomi 13 was postponed due to the death of the Former General Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party, Jiang Zemin. The postponement of the Xiaomi 13 launch schedule was also officially announced by Xiaomi via the Weibo site. Although the reason for the delay was not explained in detail, this information was announced amid the sad news of Jiang Zemin. "We humbly announce that the launch of the Mi 13 series will be postponed. We will inform you of the latest launch schedule as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding and support," said Xiaomi's statement, quoted from the Weibo microblogging platform via GSM Arena, Saturday (3/ 12/2022).
Originally, Xiaomi 13 was scheduled for release on December 1, 2022 China time. The Xiaomi 13 launch schedule has even been announced by Xiaomi on the Weibo site. On the same occasion, Xiaomi also plans to announce a new generation interface, MIUI 14 and other new devices. However, due to the passing of an important Chinese figure, the agenda failed to be carried out according to schedule.
Xiaomi 13 itself will be Xiaomi's new flagship, the successor to Xiaomi 12 which was released last December. Like its predecessor, the Xiaomi 13 will also come in two models, including the regular model and the Pro model, as Xiaomi shared a poster on Weibo some time ago. The two Xiaomi 13 models are predicted to use Qualcomm's latest chipset, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
According to reports circulating, the Pro model will be supported by 8 to 12 GB of RAM with 512 GB of storage media. Both Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro are said to come with a main camera with a resolution of 50 MP. It's just that the camera sensor used will be different. The "regular" Xiaomi 13 allegedly relies on the Sony IMX800 sensor, while the Xiaomi 13 Pro uses the Sony IMX989 sensor.
The display aspect is predicted to be supported by a 6.12-inch AMOLED screen, especially for the regular model. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 13 Pro will come with a wider screen and a higher resolution, namely the 6.7-inch LTPO AMOLED. Both devices are believed to have a 120 Hz refresh rate.
Apart from Xiaomi 13, the company made by Lei Jun is also believed to have launched other devices including the S2 smartwatch, TWS Xiaomi Buds 4, the first desktop computer, the latest Wi-Fi router, to projectors.
Huawei, iQoo and MediaTek also canceled events
Not only Xiaomi, a number of other Chinese technology companies also canceled the event which was scheduled for early December. The reason is the same, namely to honor Jiang Zemin's passing.
Among the companies that confirmed the cancellation of the event in China were Huawei, Vivo sub-brand - iQoo, as well as MediaTek.
The cancellation of the agenda was also announced by each company on the Weibo social media site. "The launch of the iQoo 11 series and iQoo Neo7 SE will be postponed. We will inform you of the new schedule soon. Thank you for your understanding and support," announced iQoo on the Weibo site.
iQoo itself is scheduled to launch its new products, including the iQoo 11 series, on Friday (2/12/2022) China time. As for Huawei, it plans to present a new smart watch on the same day as iQoo. Meanwhile MediaTek scheduled the launch of the Dimensity 8200 chipset on December 1, but was canceled. This chipset will reportedly make its debut with the iQoo Neo7 SE, reported by GSM Arena.
